Italianno is narrow and upright with tall ascenders, so its initials stack neatly inside a circle or diamond outline without stretching. A good choice when the space is taller than it is wide.
Formal scripts are the traditional choice for wedding monograms, vine monograms, towels and stationery. The initials are usually set with the surname initial larger in the centre, without a frame or with a thin circle. Script fonts have thin joining strokes, so they need size: 3 to 4 inches in adhesive vinyl, 4 to 5 inches in heat-transfer vinyl, and 2.5 inches or more for satin-stitch embroidery. Weed the hairlines last, with a fine hook, and use a strong transfer tape.
