There are so many different ways you can use a simple star shape in your projects, whether you are making a star-shaped sign or a keychain or even just making cut-outs to attach to other things.

Most cutting machines can handle star shapes pretty easily, as the design is not too intricate and it is mostly straight cuts.
If you are using cardboard, simply print out the PDF file and then cut out the star shape. Use a glue stick to attach the star to the cardboard, or you can simply trace around it with a pencil or a marker. See my tips for how to cut cardboard to make that easy and safe!
Project Ideas for Star Cut-Outs
Once your shape is cut out, there’s no limit to what you could do with these! Here are some ideas below:
Make a Mobile: All you need to do is to drill or punch a hole in the top to attach some string to make a fun mobile. You could make the mobile out of wood, acrylic, or even cardboard and paper.
Glow in the Dark Stars: Everybody loves glow in the dark stars! You could cut these out of glow-in-the-dark acrylic sheets or you could finish them with glow-in-the-dark paint.
Wooden Star Signs: Stars make for excellent signs – you could either attach them to give your rectangle or square-shaped signs some dimension or even make the sign in the shape of the star. You could even create 3D star signs by simply using two star shapes and then attaching the two together with a wooden block between the two shapes.
Wall Decals: If your cutting machine cuts vinyl, you could definitely make some fantastic wall decals with this!
Leather Shapes: You can cut these shapes out on leather or faux leather to make keychains, bags, and all kinds of other projects.
