What makes this maker different is the fonts. Every one of the 33 fonts is open-licensed (SIL Open Font License or Apache 2.0), so the monogram you make can go on things you sell. Most free monogram generators use “free for personal use” fonts, which technically forbid that. The frames and ornaments (laurel wreath, vine flourish, circles, square, diamond, dotted ring) are drawn by the tool itself, and the letters are converted to outlines, so the SVG cuts without installing any font.

Each style page opens the maker preset to that style, with notes on when to use it, letter order and sizes for vinyl and embroidery.
How the maker works
The tool loads the font file you choose from Google Fonts, reads the outline of each initial, and lays the letters out in the chosen style at 1000 by 1000 units. For the circle and diamond styles each letter is stretched to fill its segment and then clipped to the shape with a boolean intersection; the split style subtracts the name band from the letter; the other styles scale the letters uniformly with the surname initial larger in the centre. The result is written as SVG paths only. The PNG is drawn from that SVG on a canvas at 300 dpi; the PDF wraps the PNG on a page of the size you set.

Yes. There is no signup, no watermark and no limit. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded to a server.
Can I sell things made with these monograms?
Yes. All 33 fonts are licensed under the SIL Open Font License or Apache 2.0, which allow commercial use of what you make, and the frames are our own drawings. We deliberately do not include “free for personal use” fonts.
Will the SVG work in Cricut Design Space and Silhouette Studio?

What order should my initials go in?
For the styles with a larger centre letter (circle, diamond, vine, script) the order is first-name initial, surname initial, middle-name initial; the tool arranges this for you. See the monogram etiquette guide.
What is the PNG resolution?
The PNG is rendered at 300 pixels per inch of the size you set (capped at 4000 pixels), with a transparent background unless you turn on a solid one.
Does the tool work on a phone?
Yes. The form and preview stack on small screens, and downloads work in mobile Safari and Chrome.
